Ibrahim El-Mouelhy - Chief Communications Officer

 

Ibrahim is responsible for the development and management of the Outblaze brand worldwide and for communication with the public, media, and various government and policy-advisory bodies. An avid gamer, he also serves as Producer at Large on various gaming and multimedia projects for Outblaze.

 

Ibrahim began his career in 1991 in Austria as a freelance editor, translator, copywriter, and creative and technical writer, working for clients ranging from the United Nations to independent computer game developers.

 

Between 1993 and 1995, Ibrahim was employed by professional graphics software company Lexicor Corporation as Communications and Sales Manager for its East Coast office in Boston, USA. His responsibilities included Lexichrome, a Lexicor publication for computer graphic design, software, and animation techniques.

 

From 1995 to 1996, he served as Editor of the Montreal Business Journal, a fledgling publication for SMEs in the Greater Montreal area, Canada. In July 1996 Ibrahim participated in the founding of Hong Kong Cybercities (later renamed Freenation). He moved to Hong Kong, and served as Marketing Manager for Hong Kong Cybercities / Freenation until the company was acquired by a US-based investor.

 

From 1997 to 1998, Ibrahim served as Corporate Editor for messaging solutions provider International Messaging Associates, where he was responsible for the company's brand, corporate materials, product documentation, and advertising efforts.

 

In 1998, Ibrahim joined a few other twenty-somethings to set up Outblaze. He assembled the business plan that was used to attract investors and branded Outblaze, many of its products, and a number of derivative businesses including the graphics and animation studio Dream Cortex. Ibrahim studied literature and English at Dalhousie University, Canada.
